Background of the Midlothian Tenants Forum

forum meeting 350

The Midlothian Tenants Forum is a Registered Tenant Organisation (RTO).  It is a Council wide tenant organisation representing Council tenants.  The Forum receives support from Midlothian Council, who has employed the services of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (Scotland), to support the Forum and provide training for their committee members.  Midlothian Council provides additional support for the Forum by funding the annual tenant conference and the tenant newsletter.

As a registered tenant organisation, the Forum has statutory rights to be consulted before changes are made to housing policies that are likely to have a significant impact on tenants.  The Council also has a statutory duty to provide information about housing services that the Forum asks for, such as repairs and maintenance and setting of rent levels.

The Midlothian tenants Forum is involved in a variety of different projects.  If you would like to get involved in any of the activities listed on this page please contact us.
