Midlothian Council introduced estate walkabouts in partnership with the tenants forum.
Estate walkabouts are an opportunity for tenants to raise any concerns about problems that exist on their estate, particularly with regards to the physical environment.
Normally a small group of tenants will be accompanied by a housing officer walking round an agreed area. The tenants will be able to point out any areas of concern, which will be recorded by the housing officer. The walkabout usually lasts around one hour and everyone has a cuppa afterwards.
There is a programme of estate walkabouts see the timetable by clicking here.
Estate walkabouts are open to all tenants of Midlothian Council. You do not need to be resident in the area being inspected.

During our most recent estate walkabout we could see how some drivers were using footpaths to drive and park cars on.
